MCF8315EVM: Unable to spin/rotate the BLDC motor

I am using the MCF8315EVM board and connected the three phase BLDC motor to the J8 of the EVM board. Checked all the jumper settings and switch positions as described in the User’s Guide (MCF8315EVM Evaluation Module). When I rotate the R4 POT, the motor doesn't spin. 

Measured voltage on VBAT, DVDD and AVDD.

VBAT: 12.03V

DVDD: 1.55V

AVDD: 3.31V

I am using the Motor Studio GUI (Version 0.1.34) to spin the motor and using the default register settings as on the EVM Board. 

Controls->Motor Status:

Algorithm State: MOTOR_MPET_FAULT

Fault Status: 

CONTROLLER FAULT

MPET_BEMF_FAULT

Can anyone please help to resolve this issue?
