DRV8323: Can this current sense function be used to detect the phase current of BLDC motor?

My customer is interested in DRV8323.  but from the block diagram, looks like that the current sense function is for low side current detection.  they want to know if this function can be used to detect the phase current of  BLDC motor, at the position as below  picture. thanks.
