solenoid DRIVER

need to drive a 6 ohm latching solenoid, with 9V pulses. 2.5A

I need to reverse the voltage polarity in order to change state.

I thought about using the DRV8837, but I am not sure it can do the job - the data sheet is not clear if the output simply follows the input.

Please advise recomendation solution
