DRV8353: Dead Time adjustment (tdead)

Part Number: DRV8353

Hi there!!

I am using the DRV8353SRTAR to drive a motor, and durint the first tests, I have detected something related to dead time insertion the device does automatically... When I set the tdrive to 0b00, which is supposed to add only 50ns to the "default automatic value", I see a total dead time of about 415ns, so I guess the "default automatic value" is about 350-360ns. Do you know if there is a way to reduce that time? As far as I read in the datasheet, that time is calulated using Vgs detection, to ensure the low side mosfet is enable when the high side has been already disabled.

Here is the screenshot showing what I saw during the high side mosfet change from HIGH to LOW and los side mosfet change from LOW to HIGH.

This time, the tdead parameter has been set to 0b00 which should be 50ns.

I am using the SPI version of the driver, so I can change it on the fly and see what happens.

Thanks for the help!! 😊
