Hello I am looking for some advice. I am trying to figure out what is the best TI product for my application. I have a custom built 16 pole (8 pair) motor approximately 0.110 ohm phase to phase and 10uh phase to phase. I am trying to have a controller that I can use to test the maximum efficiency of the motor. I have used the drv8301-69m kit to get the motor running fine but am not convinced this is getting the job done for maximum motor only efficiency. I would like to be able to add some external inductance to smooth the waveforms to be true sinusoidal waveforms before the motor instead of relying on the low inductance of the motor to do this. I am also looking for a high pwm rate so i can minimize the required external inductance. I was told that my current kit can support the external inductors and was given a drawing of where to place them but was told the 8301 is not so great at high pwm rates. I have a goal of about 100kHz PWM. The motor testing will have a varied load but will be applied slowly so there is no sudden loading.
So basically goals are TI controller compatible with motorware ideally that can have external inductors used (probably needs to be modified to achieve but that is ok) and is capable of 100 kHz PWM.
Thanks in advance
Jesse
