Dear, Sir.
My customer is looking for Full-step Stepping motor driver.
The driving current is so small as 67mA.
Regarding DRV8802-Q1,
Is it no problem to set ISENA/B chopping current as 67mA?
Best Regards,
H. Sakai

Is DRV8301 is capable to be used in the BLDC motor controller for the E-BIKE or E-CAR?????
Dear Reck
Based on your suggestion, I vary these three times (TOFF, TDECAY and TBLANK) to find a sinusoidal current in our winding motor. But I don't understand the effect of each of them on current regulation. I tested 27 (3^3) different combination of them. Because, for each of them three value (0x10, 0x7F and 0xFF) are set. But as it is obvious in attached file, only TOFF change the wave form of the current. Moreover, none of them is not appropriative wave for good driving.
Please let me to know what I should do for having an appropriative in current.
Other register:
MODE: 1/256
ISGAIN:5
DTIME:850ns
TORQUE:0xFF
ABT: 1
DECMODE: Use auto mixed decay at all times

I'm looking to use a DRV8805 controller with a hurst LSG35012F76P unipolar stepper motor. The datasheet for the 8805 mentions an optional Zener diode that can be connected between VM and VCLAMP to allow faster current decay. However, I'm at a bit of a loss as to the spec of diode I should be selecting or the rough range of safe values.
This site has the specs for the stepper motor beckwithelectronics.com/HURST/lds-lgs.htm the 12V LSD35012 D line. Which notes the motor is 12V with 65 ohm resistance per phase.
Can anyone offer any advice on how I can determine a suitable Zener for this usage?
We are looking for a motor drive design consultant to design a custom OEM motor drive around the TMS320F28027FPTT for a 120w BLDC motor/generator. I apologize in advanced if this request does not belong in this area or if I am breaking proper protocol here.
Many thanks, Michael.
Team,
Could you advise on the following?
I am using the DRV8885 for controlling a stepper motor. The datasheet states (page 15) the following:
The home state is an electrical angle of 45°. This state is entered after power-up, after exiting logic undervoltage lockout, or after exiting sleep mode.
Since the motor position is very important to me, I need to know if this means that the motor might be actuated because of what is stated above. Or will the motor be stuck in the position where it was before e.g. the power went down and only be actuated when a new STEP signal is given?
Thanks for your reply.
Tom
Hello,
I checked the similar post as below.
drv8840 OUT Max voltage (e2e.ti.com/support/applications/motor_drivers/f/38/t/464698)
There is the answer as "-0.7V to VM+0.7V".
Our customer test the OUT1 voltage, then that is -1.8V.
The customer used the competitor device.(Allegro)
It is mentioned the absolute maximum ratings as "-2V to VM+2V" on the datasheet.
So, the customer do not change the device from competitor.
Is it correct the voltage of the OUT1/2 "-0.7V to VM+0.7"?

Hi Team,
The customer is using LM629M-6.
PIN 13(PWM MAG) can output PWM and PIN 11(PWM SIGN) is a low level occasionally when the board is power on without any initialization. The PWM for PIN 13(PWM MAG) is about 3%. The malfunction has appeared on several boards. Once this malfunction occurs, the motor rotates fast.
The attached are the schematic and the waveform for the malfunction. VCC is 5V and fCLK is 6MHZ.
What is the reason? How to solve the issue?
Thanks,
Best Regards,
I tried to use DRV10963 to drive MAXON EC motor 423518 with Arduino Uno.
But it cannot drived
This is my experimental circuit.
Arduino provide 500Hz PWM pulse by pin5.(duty-ratio 60%) Pin8 is Low.
I captured voltage on U and V. They output weak and same phase pulse. ( I am sorry to not take picture in that time. I attach the drawing instead.)
After experiment, I noticed that this motor is not recommended in motor inductance between phase to phase.
This is the reason why cannot drive?
What should I do to drive this motor using DRV10963?
Please tell me.
Best Regards,
Hi,
I'm interested in finding a method of creating a fault on the DRV8824 without damaging the chip. This would be done for QA on the product. If possible generating the fault condition from the motor connector would be preferable.

Hi sir,
Currently I am using DRV8837 to drive a motor. What is the suggestion of motor driver if I need to drive few motors in parallel? The few motor is not necessary to be controlled individually.
Thanks. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Team,
The customer is using DRV10970. The attachment is his schematic. VM is 8V. As the description of the data sheet, if the the BRKMOD pin is high level, the motor is brake. However, when the BRKMOD pin is high level, the customer's motor is still rotation, not brake. The high level for the BRKMOD pin is 3.3V.
Why the motor is still rotation when the BRKMOD pin is high level? How to solve the issue?
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Dear Support team
I want to suggest DRV10983 to customer. And I have question.
(1) Customer system needs are 2000rpm in 100ms after a start, is it possible?
(2) Is there concern that motor spin in the reverse direction in a startup?
(3) The recommendation is Tj up to 105 ℃ in data sheet, Is it operate at Ta = 105 ℃ on the following conditions?
◆Condition
Vin 6V~12V
Output current: 0.4A (Ave) 2A (Peak)
Ta:105℃

Can DRV8305 be used to control a DC motor?
Using the 6-PWM mode of the Driver IC can the gate of 1 half bridge be set to low and then use the other two half bridges to control a DC motor. Would this idea work?
Dear sir,
My name is Ketan
I had made one DC motor driver project using lmd 18200 t ic with arduino mc. My program is so simple and working fine. My motor is brushed 24 v DC .
Program is motor fwd and reverse control by two buttons no nc type. Pwm is only 10 period of 5 sec.
Motor rotate fine but with ought load.
If I putting on belt. Tensions it can not rotate.
Pls suggest me the solution
Thanks
iam using drv8301.Iam facing a little problem with buck converter that without load my buck converter output is 5V but after connecting the microcontroller the output drop to 3V.
please help
what is the maximum input PWM frequency can be used with DRV8301?
Dear, Sir.
My customer is interested in DRV8805 as Unipolar stepper motor driver.
The excitation procedure for full-step, half-step, wave drive is described on page
10 & 11 on the datasheet.
Typical application schematic is also described on page 12.
They pointed out the strange point of the excitation based on the schematic.
I also checked ;
It should be OUT2=>OUT3, OUT3=>OUT2, I suppose.
Is it a kind of miss-typing or another reason the excitation procedure looks strange?

Hi,
I am a beginner.
I downloaded the following spice model for a stepper motor from TI website
http://e2e.ti.com/group/motor/m/simulations/665168.aspx
But i am not able to understand how the motor has been modeled.
Can anyone explain this circuit as well the the equations based on which this model was created?
