Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8353F, DRV832X
Hello,
Our design is currently using the F28388SZWTS MCU paired with a DRV8323R for driving brushless DC motors, specifically using field oriented control.
We are looking into ways of incorporating Safe Torque Off (STO). Is it possible to implement this STO function, as outlined in the attachment (link below), with our current DRV8323R?
If not, we might be interested in switching to the DRV8353F assuming there are no other issues we would create by making this switch. Our dev board currently has the DRV8323R, so all of our firmware and testing has been with this configuration.
Comparing the DRV8323R and DRV8353F datasheets it appears the change should not be an issue for our project. I believe the only hardware change would be now requiring a buck step down converter? Is this correct?
Are there any other considerations we should factor in between the two different DRVs?
Best,
Jonathan
