DRV8245S-Q1LEVM: Help setting up

Hello everyone, I have just unboxed this module and connected it to my PC and a 12V PSU.

The green Vm LED D3 comes on, as does the green PWR LED D6 but nothing else.

There is a bank of pins in connector J7 but no jumpers on any of them and none included in the box.

I tried connecting both 3V3 pins on J7 with a short piece of wirewrap and the D7 illuminated and D2 started flashing.

Am I to connect all of these links to make it work with the GUI software and if so should these links have been included in the box because there were none in the packaging :-(
