Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8432, , DRV8962
I have a design with DRV8432 devices on it, the design has been in the field for while. Could could I enquire when the EOL notice for the DRV8432 was issued? I didn't see it a year ago when I checked. It appears that the device has been 'pruned' from TI's catalogue and web searches don't show this item on the website. While digikey shows that the item is EOL, I can't confirm this on TI's site.
What are the options for obtaining this product? Can I purchase a last batch of them through TI or distribution?
IS the DRV8412 a drop-in replacement (albeit with some changes to grounding)? I understood that it was the same silicon. In our applicaiton we are not pushing the power of the board, so this might work with only minor changes. What is the expected support for DRV8412, the website says 'active' but that is what the DRV8432 said last year.
In this thread [e2e.ti.com/.../drv8462-drv8432-replacement the DRV8962 is proposed as a replacement for the DRV8432, but this requires a re-layout, that would require a development cycle that is not possible at this time. Do any solutions exist without re-layout, if so, what would the implications be for power or operation?
Kind regards
Andy
