Hello everybody,
I am using the DRV8301 to drive an ebike motor under a battery voltage in the range of 50-58V, and I'm experiencing a problem that already occured on 2 different boards : the DVDD output remains at almost 0 V, and driver is not working anymore. Moreover, SPI interface returns only 0xFF.
The boards have been working for several ours without problem before. Layout is close to this proposed in SLVA552, excepted for DVDD capacitor which has only one via close to it, and two others 5 mm further.
Bus capacitance was 1400 uF and 5 2.2uF 100V capacitor are disposed on the board (two of them are very close to PVDD1 and PVDD2).
Now, when I measure the resistance between DVDD and GND, I get 50 ohms on one board and 21 ohm on the other. I think the DVDD LDO regulator are distroyed. Do you have any idea of the cause of this problem (I'm designing the next rev of the board, and I want to avoid to get the same problem !).
N.B. On one of the board, the problem appeared a couple of time after one of the two 680uF bus capacitor had one of these lead broken, what produces some sparks when the contact was done again (board is not put into an enclosure).
Thank you a lot for any suggestion !
Best regards,
Theo
