Hey guys,
I have to design a circuit that will convert 12V to 24V to drive a motor. The thing is, in certain circumstances of the project, an event can occur that will make the motor overspin and its voltage can raise up to 40-ish V for a few ms.
In that particular situation I would have to deal with this extra energy. I could either use it to charge my battery back just like electrical cars do or I could maybe just direct than energy in a sort of diode/resistor circuit just to dissipate this energy.
I'm new to motor drive circuits and I was wondering if you guys have any opinion on this matter. Does TI have certain circuits that could help me solve this matter ? Are they any ''known '' topologies for these kinds of circuits ?
Thanks a lot guys.
Best regards
