Hi Motor Driver Team,
My customer is integrating the drv8889 stepper motor driver into software. We have a couple of questions about the stall detection methods.
Using the TI DRV8889 GUI to test stall detection. Even when the motor is not loaded we see that the torque count = 0. Based on the datasheet, this value should be high when the motor is unloaded.

Also, when they stall the motor, it is not detecting a stall. See below for snapshot when stalled the motor, but the “Stall Detection” fault is not active.

For the automatic stall detection learning process, could you please elaborate what it means by “16 electrical cycles” mentioned on page 37 of the datasheet?
