Part Number: DRV8300
Hi
I am doing a design using the DRV8300DRGE and can't understand your formula for calculating the deadtime.
Referring to page 14 of the datasheet (SLVSFG5D – SEPTEMBER 2020 – REVISED MARCH 2022) it says that connecting a resistor to the DT pin sets the deattime according to the formula: -
RDT (kOhm) = Deadtime (ns) / 5
It also says that if the DT pin is left floating the deadtime is 200ns?
Your formula suggests, if you want 200ns dead time you need 40kOhms!
Similarly for 300ns, I need 60kOhms.
Should the pin be grounded for 200ns and the resistor increases the dead time?
Where am I going wrong?
Best regards
Clive
