DRV8703-Q1: Toff behavior

Hi  Ti Experts:

I has question related to the DRV8703's application.

When the motor current reach the Itrip level, the chip will enter the slow decay mode until the Toff is expired as the datasheet description. 

During the period of the Toff, If the control input like the IN1 or IN2 is changed (reverse to forward ,or forward to reverse) , the chip will quit from the slow decay immediately or still waiting for the Toff expired?
