I am making a industrial automation project. It's a material processing line for stones. It includes 20 stepper motors ( which can be communicated through hardware (GPIO) OR RS-232), 52 inductive proximity sensors(24VDC) and 15 relay outputs(24VDC). This line is divided in 3 phases and the three phases must work independently. A HMI is required to input initial datas. This is merely a stepper position control system based on the data from a HMI. Which microcontroller will be the best and reliable for this purpose? And if you guys can provide a tip.... That would be really helpful.
