The customer want to use DRV8876 with following motor.
- Motor start up current is ~1A
- Peak current in operation is 320mA
And they want to generate alert when motor current reaches 320mA in normal operation.
According to equation(3) in datasheet, we can calculate RIPROPI.
RIPROPI = Vref/(Itrip * AIPROPI)
Supposing Vref= 3.3V and Itrip = 320mA, then RIPROPI can be 10.3Kohm.
Question.
In this case, start up current 1A is larger than Itrip that we set as current limit.
Is it possible to start motor in this case?
