Part Number:DRV10975
Hello, I have some concern over the validity of the specification sheet of the DRV10975, particularly the EEPROM programming voltage.
While the specification sheet states 22V to program the EEPROM, my experience shows it will program at much lower voltages.
Furthermore, I trust the TI engineers would not design a 12V product to require 22V. This is well beyond the absolute maximum for many components designed for a 12V system, thus, unless this low cost motor driver is placed next to some expensive voltage regulation, the two specifications are contradictory. I would have expected a sensible design to be under 18V.
It is my belief that this 22V specification is a clerical error, caused by section 8.3.5 being copied verbatim from the DRV10983, the 24V predecessor of the DRV10975.
A similar mistake is clearly present in the EVM Quick Start guide, slyu022c, which clearly states to connect the DRV10975EVM to 24V. Beyond the 23V absolute maximum rating for the DRV10975.
