Extra schottky diode in Drv8711 circuit

Hi ,

1) I use IRF640 for power Mosfet in Drv8711 circuit , this mosfet has one catch diode and I don't place any extra diode for H-bridge , should I place any diode ?

like this or this one .

2) Does it help to decrease temperature ? or to depletion of current in decay modes ?
