Part Number:DRV8301
Hi
I am using a TMS320F28035 along with a DRV8301 to control a brushless DC motor
Presently I am using trapezoidal commutation using the PWM scheme in f2803xpwm_cntl_8301.h from the controlSuite.
- here at any given point during the rotation there is strobing on 4 gate pins of the motor controlling H-bridge FETs
- this makes it difficult to confirm via scope the drive on a given winding
In the scheme in f2803xbldcpwm_BLDC.h from the controlSuite the lowside FETs at any given point are held constant
- this would at first glance appear to be a simpler (and thus possibly better?) scheme
- it seems more intuitive to me, which means I am probably missing something
Is anyone able to explain the relative benefits of the two approaches?
All the best
- Richard
