DRV2510-Q1: Overtemperatur fault @ 300mA load

Part Number:DRV2510-Q1

Dear team,

could you help me with the following issue?

Using the DRV2510 with a load below 200mA everything works as expected.

When the DRV2510 is set to drive around 200-300mA into the coil (or more), it works for close to 1 second, detects and reports an over-temperature and enters load diagnostics mode, and resumes to working around 1 second later, and so on. When touching the chip it feels almost cold.

Some additional information:
VDD =15.4V.
The logic is at 3.3V (EN pin for instance).
Between the coil terminals is a simple coil used as an actuator in series with a negligible sense resistor.
Using less input decoupling than what the DS recommends, but a test were it was increased did not solve the issue.

Attached below is the a shot of the schematic and PCB the DRV2510 is used in.

Looking forward to your feedback.

BR, Nico
