Hello,
First of all, I'll write a short description of problem origin. I work and study the same time. I am writing my master thesis at university and I want to use DRV11873 in the thesis to drive BLDC motors collected from old (but not obsolete :)) Hard Disk Drives. The motors with drivers will be used in building RC quadcopter.
The project will not be used in any way to earn money.
My question:
1. Can DRV11873 integrated circuit be called an "electronic commutator"?
Depending on that, I may or may not write a paragraph about motor-commutator efficiency (a paragraph to fill some pages :D).
1.2 If DRV11873 has 6 MOSFETs - is that a bridge, or a half-bridge? It's not written in datasheet.
1.3 What MOSFET transistors do You use in DRV111873? N-FET? P-FET?
2. Is it wrong/illegal to use DRV11873 in a thesis? The project is greatly impoving my electronics experience and I gathered a lot of informations by making it.
