Hello,
I want to use the DRV8301 with a nominal battery voltage of 55V. The problem is, the motor can also be driven by an external torque which leads to an EMF > 60V. Assuming that the motor rotation can provide up to 80 V to power rail (if the BMS of the battery disconnect because of an overvoltage), if I protect the PVDD pin of the DRV8301 to a maximum voltage of 60V (with a 100V LDO for instance), is it enough to maintain the driver in a safe operating area ? Or the HS Vds sensing will be damaged ? And what about the gate charge pumps ?
And what happends when DRV8301 PVDD is maintained to 24V while the motor supply the power rail with 50V or even 80V ? (MOSFET are 80V rated)
I have the DRV8301 HC C2 Kit, and it is not easy to separate the motor supply from the DRV8301 PVDD, so, I will really enjoy a reply before starting to destroy the dev kit !
Best regards,
Theophile
