DRV2510-Q1: controlling the device, minimum requirements (externals), layout tips, I2C diagnostics

we have a few questions about DRV2510 - can you advice?

1. What’s the primary method of controlling DRV2510, i.e. does it react to the ‘size’ of the signal (in an analog way) or for the logical level (digitally)?
2. What’s the minimum electrical and software configuration required for the DRV2510 to work (externals required, signals levels, etc.)?
3. On our current proto board we see the outputs signals in phase (when input is zero), when applying the PWM we see random spikes on the output and lack of control of the solenoid. Can this be caused by bad layout only?
4. Is it needed to turn on I2C diagnostics for the device to operate properly?
