For reference, I am using the “DRV8308 EVM 0.1.0” application on Windows 10 (x64), and the “SLVUA41F–February 2014–Revised September 2018” user’s guide, along with the eval board and supplied motor.
I am able to operate the motor successfully using the controls on the “PWM Modes” tab, where all options appear to function as expected. However it seems that the options presented on the “Clock Frequency Mode” (see below) page simply do not function. I believe that the options on the “PWM Modes” tab always override everything else, this includes changing some of the options on the “All Registers” page (e.g. SPDMODE cannot be changed directly, as it will always immediately switch back to the mode selected on “PWM Modes”).
After following the instructions in section 3.2, the motor shows no response.
Changing the settings for CLK frequency, control mode select or commutation mode on the “Clock Frequency Mode” tab doesn’t appear to have any effect, including when the motor is already running as configured in “PWM Modes”.
