Part Number:BOOST-DRV8848
I have a Boost-DRV8848 board driven by a uP created PWM signal on BIN1 or 2 depending on the direction we're driving the load (with the inactive control at 0V for braking). We're using the DRV8848 in parallel mode (AIN1/2 floating and J13 jumper installed) trying to drive a 4 ohm speaker load with a 5V VM. Our PWM ramps up to forward 100%, then ramps down to rev 100%, etc. If current limit was not active, I would expect the 100% PWM sections to be 100% on. Instead, I see continued PWM activity throughout , which I assume is the current limiting function. I adjusted the current limit Pot over its full range and didn't see any difference. I then shorted out the current Rs, but still no difference. So I played with different loads (resistors for this testing) and found that even with a 10k ohm load I see chopping, less that at heavier loads but still chopping. So either I'm doing something wrong, or I'm misinterpreting the motor drive signal. Any help is appreciated.
