DRV10974: "auto detect for analog" of PWM pin

Datasheet of page 3 shows "auto detect for analog" about PWM pin description.
I read page 12 of datasheet, but I couldn't understand detail of this function.
Could you let me know more detail about "auto detect for analog" function, please?
Can DRV10974 operate by analog signal of external DAC?
