As I look through the data sheet, it appears that many registers are common between the two motors, so that settings such as Amp Gain, Dead Time, Blanking and Decay would be the same for both motors. This may not be acceptable for us, so I want to make sure I'm interpreting the data sheet correctly. Is this true? We'd prefer to use two separate motor controllers but our power supply is 48 V nominal, so accounting for tolerance and noise we a controller with a max. voltage above 50 V, leaving us with few choices.
