Part Number:DRV8302
I am trying to make a bldc motor driver for a 500W 48V bldc motor using the DRV8302 as mosfet gate driver. I have read the datasheet for it and my application will need readings about the current going to the motor phases during operation. Now I saw that the DRV8302 has two high performance current shunt amplifiers but they are both for low side application. My question is what is so special about the low side in this case? Why not measure the current going through to the phases from the source to drain junction in a half bridge?
