We are using BQ34Z100 to report telemetry of a 24 V 15 Ah battery charging from a solar panel using MPPT charge controller. The system is also driving wheels of a robot in a repetitive process fashion (stop, start running for n time, stop, repeat). We have been testing this system for over 72 hours and multiple charge and discharge cycles. We collect battery fuel gauge readings every second.
An unusual readings on the fuel gauge was captured: the voltage readings (address 0x08) dropped from 26400 mV to 10280 for one second and then recovered back to 26400. We depend on the feedback of the fuel gauge for our operations and this caused us disruption. We wonder if it could be from the fuel gauge. We are confident that the issue is not from the battery BMS because the battery MPPT charger was reading 26400 mV consistently throughout.
Your insights on on the possible error sources is appreciated.
Regards
Heba
Edit: clarified that the issue is not from the battery BMS.
