DRV8243-Q1: DRV8243 - Body Diode Max Current

I am doing a design with DRV8243S for a solenoid control. I'm planning to use a half-bridge configured as "Low-Side Recirculation".

I looked for the max current allowed in the Lowside Body Diode but the datasheet only indicate this parameter:

I will test in my design the current measured across the load when the HSide mosfet is open but I would like to know what ammount of current should I concern to avoid damage in the body diode, is this 3A the maximum?

Considering that in my test the measure overpasses this limit should be fine to use an external diode in parallel to the load with a lower Vf to reduce this current on the device? There is this recommendation from the SLVAE59A document.
