DRV8835: Clarification on Output Dead Time (tDEAD) behavior in DRV8835

Hello.

I am reviewing the DRV8835 datasheet and noticed the Protection Circuits table lists "tDEAD Output dead time = 100 ns." I would like to confirm the intended meaning and guaranteed behavior of this parameter.

If IN1 and IN2 are switched "simultaneously" from a microcontroller , does the DRV8835 internally insert a dead time to prevent shoot‑through?
