MCF8316AEVM: Torque mode via PWM signal

The 8316C datasheet states that Iq_ref can be controlled via PWM in torque mode. However, on the MCF8316AEVM, PWM only achieves switching Iq_ref. Besides setting SPEED_LOOP_DIS/ILIMIT, are there any other registers that need to be set?
