MCF8316C-Q1: How do I use Motor Studio's Smart Tuning to get my motor to spin?

Tool/software:

I have a new MCF8316CEVM and have connected it to a motor. The motor has one pole pair, a phase resistance of 8.4 ohms, and a phase inductance of 0.05 mh. I have followed the instructions to change the switches and other hardware of the MCF8316CEVM to the correct positions and entered some parameters. However, after running the device, I get an error message. How should I resolve this issue? Do I need to import a configuration file into the new MCF8316C chip first?
