Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ULC1001
Tool/software:
Dear TI FAE Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
We are currently developing a new Lens Cleaning System (LCS) based on the ULC1001 configurable ultrasonic PWM modulator. Our design integrates a custom transducer with a resonant frequency of 99.7 kHz. To ensure optimal performance, we kindly request your assistance with the following:
- 1.Register Description Documentation:
Could you provide detailed documentation or application notes outlining the ULC1001 register definitions (e.g., hardware/software register purpose, Q-format specifications, and bit-field descriptions)? While we’ve reviewed the datasheet and evaluation module guides, we require further clarification on specific registers (e.g.,
ULC_RX_mode_cfg,USER_Params_fs_Hz_Q9, power/diagnostic thresholds) for precise customization. - 2.Driver Configuration Workflow:
For our 99.7 kHz transducer, could you advise on:
- Recommended ADC sampling rate (
ULC_SAR_SAMP_RATES) and alignment withUSER_Params_fs_Hz_Q9. - Optimal
USER_Params_numSamplesandUSER_Params_numStagesvalues given our frequency requirements. - Best practices for programming active/passive bursts while adhering to the ruleΔ_Freq⋅n=FsN⋅n=(ULC_RX_mode_cfg bits [0–4]USER_Params_numSamples)⋅nΔ_Freq⋅n=NFs⋅n=(USER_Params_numSamplesULC_RX_mode_cfg bits [0–4])⋅n
- Any critical updates to the calibration sequence (Table 3-20, 5-16) or diagnostic thresholds (e.g.,
USER_Params_sfaultParams_Imag_threshold_A_Q9) for our transducer.
- Recommended ADC sampling rate (
- 3.Key Considerations for New LCS Designs:
- Are there risks or limitations when operating near 100 kHz (e.g., timing constraints, PLL stability)?
- How should we adapt power regulation (e.g.,
USER_Flags_Pmax_W_region1_Q24) for our transducer’s impedance profile? - Should we modify the default
ISR period(1.024 ms at 500 ksps) to align with our application’s timing requirements?
We greatly appreciate your guidance on these items. If available, please share example configurations or reference scripts (similar to Sections 3.3.5.3–3.3.5.9 in the EVM guide) tailored to 99.7 kHz operation.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to your insights to streamline our design validation.
Best regards,
