Drivers for KERS

I have got a MB PM35S-048 motor and I want to build a Knetic Energy Recovery System. The motor is drived in printers by L293 or L293D, but the driver only control the direction of rotation, but when the motor decreased the velocity, the driver do not control the charge of a battery system, because it isn't bidirectional. What IC do you recommend for this application? What  motor do you recommend me?
