DRV8840: What would be the correct setup for filtering output peaks in BDC motor drive?

Hi,

We have found out that applying some capacitance to DRV8840 Out parallel to BDC motor makes startup peaks lower. However sometimes we still encounter nFAULT to activate.

In current design we cannot nRESET the DRV as reset is continuously driven high.

Typically BDC is 300mA load but in startup peak current might be as high as 8A which causes the nFAULT. Is there somekind of calculation instructions/matching of additional components
to make it work more stable? We have also used PWM soft start before the full 24VDC, but actually this PWM has been stated in some TI forums that it might cause even more peaks.
