MCF8329A: Questions Regarding Speed Control via I2C

Part Number: MCF8329A

Tool/software:

Currently, I am using I2C to control the motor using the reference mode profile, but I have a few questions:

  1. When I input a control value of 0, the motor stops immediately instead of decelerating gradually. According to the datasheet, entering a speed of 0 automatically switches to Standby mode. Is it possible to prevent the controller from entering Standby mode and make the motor decelerate gradually instead?
  2. Is there a specific register that can be used to check whether the motor is operating normally or has lost synchronization (stall detection)?
  3. Under our current test conditions, we cannot induce motor desynchronization, so we are unsure how the Resync Mode operates. Does the motor automatically detect desynchronization when it occurs? Could you provide a more detailed explanation about how this works?

Thank you.
