DRV8242-Q1: HARDWIRED CONFIGURATION for MODE pin

I am a bit confused about selecting a resistor for the mode pin. I would like to use the driver in PWM mode without an mcu.

In the manual chapter 7.3.2 states, that MODE is a 2-level setting, however in the table below 4 resistor levels are mentioned. With this information and the electrical characteristics from chapter 6.5, I cannot clearly identify how I should wire the MODE pin.

Any information is welcome.
