MCF8316AEVM: Error window pops up 'Device not connected' in TI MotorStudio

Error window pops up 'Device not connected' in TI MotorStudio:

I physically connected the MCF8316AEVM control board to laptop using USB cable, and at the same time supply power to 'VM' of the board. I can see that 'D6' red light is ON, and new COM appears in 'Device Manager'. But when I tried to use MotorStudio to control the motor, it shows 'EVM not connected'. Error window 'Device not connected' pops up when I tried to write to EEPROM.
