DRV10964: Reducing start up time

I understand motor needs to follow defined initialization and motor start-up sequence procedure in Figure 14 in datasheet.

Customer wants to reduce time to steady-state closed-loop control following a button push by user. My question: can calibration and alignment steps be completed prior to button push by user to reduce time to start motor? Or do calibration and alignment need to happen in sequence just before accelerating? 

Wondering if motor can stay at 0 speed after calibrated and aligned? And then ramp up speed after button push? That would save some time.
