MCF8316A: How to connect MCF8316A and MSP-EXP430FR2355

Hi,

I am considering using MSP-EXP430FR2355 as a way to debug MCF8316A mounted on a custom board.

Is there anything else I need to do to debug besides updating the firmware on MSP-EXP430FR2355? Also, is I2C the only cable that connects MSP-EXP430FR2355 and MCF8316A? Please let me know if there are any other cables that need to be connected.
