DRV8311: PWM Generation Mode

Customer has the following two questions and needs your help.

He used DRV8311P, when using PWM generation mode:

Q1: The PWM cycle, duty cycle, dead time and other related parameters are configured through the tSPI interface, and square waves can be output on the three pins OUTA, B and C. If he wants to drive a brushless motor, does he still need to configure the PWM_STATE register to control the action of the mos tube?

Q2: If it can also output waveforms using PWM generation mode, then how to control the brushless motor to rotate in open loop? What are the specific steps?
