DRV8311: Current sensing with external resistor

Hello,

For my application reading 2 analog inputs and then calculating to get current is too slow. When i was looking at the block diagram i saw that H-bridges are separated to PGND. My question is can i connect external current sens. resistor between PGND pin and GND and sense the curent externaly? Is PGND realy connected just for H bridges ?
